After going to the temple on Chinese New
Year, My family and I headed out to Banawe, Quezon City to look for a Chinese
restaurant for our yearly CNY lunch. Everyone in my family loves to eat Chinese
food and my mom and aunts enjoy Chinese dishes than other cuisine. While
driving along Banawe, we saw this small place called Coral Garden Restaurant.
The Food
Ordering in a Chinese restaurant is not
really hard for us since menus are pretty much the same. And as usual, we
ordered the same thing as what we normally order.
Here’s what we ordered:
Polonchay in Garlic - Php255 |
Coral Chicken (Regular) - Php295 |
Coral Fried Rice (Medium) - Php240 |
Sweetcorn and Crabmeat Soup - Php230 |
Crab Fooyong - Php275 |
Oyster Cake - Php260 |
Cha Miswa - Php225 |
Almond Jelly with Mandarin Orange - Php295 |
The Verdict
The structure of the restaurant looked
really old and worn down. The place is
small and interior is not really nice. We almost filled up their second floor
even if we’re only 5 in the group.
The staffs here are not friendly at all.
They don’t smile and moves very slow. They use their cellphone all the time and
when you call them for requests, it will really take a while for them to approach us
even if the distance is only 2 tables away.
The food was quite ok. I loved their Cha
Miswa even if my aunt finds it a bit salty. We didn’t like the Oyster cake
because there’s too much flour on it. But I’m still looking forward for our next
visit to try their Coral Shrimp, Crispy Bean Curd and Seafood Hotpot.
So if you happen to pass by Banawe, drop by
at Coral Garden Restaurant and try their best-selling dishes and let me know what your verdict is.
