Melo's - Home of Certified Angus Beef

Prior to Valentine's day, Mark has been craving for steak. Imagine hearing him say "I want steak!" everyday for like 10 consecutive days... And so he did his research on the best Steak House in Quezon City and one of the top results is Melo's.

There were a lot of good reviews about this restaurant on the internet so he decided to book a reservation for us on the 15th instead of 14th to avoid the traffic.

Melo's, Home of certified Angus Beef, was opened in 1987 and it is the first restaurant in the Philippines to serve Certified Angus Beef. Certified Angus Beef is known for its prized marbleization with less than on inch of fat.

Melo's is also known for its high quality Wagyu beef and Sweet Bella's award winning desserts such as the Chocolatta, Lemoncello and Midnight Deco.

The Food

We basically ordered their ever famous "mouthwatering" Wagyu steak. Off course, you don't go to a Steak House and not order a steak right? So here's what we had for our V-day dinner:

Complimentary Bread and Butter

New Zealand Baked Mussels - Php480

Creamy Organic Fresh Mushroom - Php199
Classic Onion Soup - Php199

Server Jomar slicing my Grade 5-6 Ribeye Wagyu Steak
8.5 oz. Grade 5 - 6 Ribeye Wagyu Steak

Ribeye Grade 5 - 6 Wagyu Steak - Php298/oz.

Elite Salpicao Wagyu 7 - 8 oz. - Php2600
The Verdict

Venue is a little crowded especially when the place is full. Tables are close to each other. The indoor dining area is noisy as well. They can still improve their ambiance as well since diners are paying so much for the food.

Service is good. Servers are very attentive and responsive. Cooking and preparation may take a while but it's understandable.

Mark loved the Salpicao he ordered. I tasted it and it was so so good. I loved how tender the meat is cooked and how juicy and yet not watery.

The Ribeye Wagyu Steak that I ordered is not so good and a little dry. Probably it's because I had my ribeye wagyu steak cooked in medium-well.

We did not order dessert after our main course as there were no space in our stomach anymore. :)

Overall, food is good and I can recommend Melo's as a date place for special occassions.

Rustic Mornings by Isabelo

The moment that I stepped into this beautiful, quiet and cozy place of Rustic Mornings by Isabelo, I can say that I really fell in love with it at once. It has a very green and nice garden all over the place and I find it so peaceful. It really felt so good to be in a relaxing place like this as I've been so stressed almost all the time. If I can just go back on a regular basis, I will.

Rustic Mornings is strategically divided into outdoor and indoor dining area. There's a lot of space between the tables making it a private atmosphere, perfect to spend a wonderful date with your family and special someone.

And I really loved how unique pieces were put together making my dining experience truly amazing.

But off course, it's not just the ambiance that I like about this place. I also love their food. Here's what I ordered:

Cheesy Chicken Fricasee - Php300
Grilled Fresh Soy Tuna Belly - Php300
Garlic Rice
Waffle (half cinnamon and half plain)
Mango Surprise - Php120
Frozen Brazo de Mercedes

The Verdict

As mentioned earlier, I really, really fell in love with this place. It makes you feel at home plus all green that surrounds you make you feel closer to nature.

Staffs here are super friendly and nice. They make sure that everything you need will be served.

I highly recommend my readers to visit Rustic Mornings not just because of the ambiance but also their sumptuous food. My favorite was the Cheesy Chicken Fricasee. I would definitely order this again when I visit the place again. The Grilled Soy Tuna Belly was a little salty for me, but it was also good.
